acpuncture

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is tolerated very well by dogs and cats. We use acupunture to relieve muscle spasm, fascial tension and pain. The carry over effect from acupunture is documented to last up to 10 days and it has a cumulative effect, so treatments build in effect. Pets will often become quiet and enjoy this part of the treatment. Electro-acupuncture is available.

chiropractic

Chiropractic

Chiropractic manipulations are tolerated very well by dogs and cats and improve joint function, mobility and health. It can help with inflammation such as that caused by arthritis.

Manual Therapies

Physical therapy comes in many forms, joint mobilisation improves the range of motion of the joints, improves functional movement, improves comfort and helps keeps joint fluid healthy.

canine massage

Massage

Massage is a large part of the manual therapies provided, it helps to calm the animal, releases natural endorphins, reduces muscle tightness and improves the function of muscles and joints.

canine and feline electrotherapies, laser, ultrasound

Electrotherapies

All our electrotherapies are available within the set price of treatment. We use LASER, pulsed electromagnetic field therapy, therapeutic ultrasound, TENS, and neuromuscular electrical stimulation. Electrotherapies work intra and extra-celluarly to provide micro and macroscopic changes to the tissues to speed healing and aid the appropriate maturation of scar tissue, providing optimum healing.

canine hydrotherapy

Hydrotherapy

Once your dog has been fully assessed and treated we may recommend hydrotherapy. We use hyrdotherapy for gait re-education. The underwater treadmill contains warm water, the properties of which are well known for healing, as well as bouyancy to aid sore joints and pressure to improve strength. Beth is an advanced hydrotherapist and, together with hydrotherapist Jess, works to optimise your pet's treadmill sessions.
